Colour – Dark Brown

Soft as velvet, this double holds a warm dark brown colour with burgundy undertones. It has a fruity taste while drinking and has hoppy after taste. It has a creamy, rich and firm foam head.

Bornem dubbel is a living abbey beer that, after its first fermentation in the barrel, nicely evolves during its second fermentation in the bottle or in the barrel. Few other dark doubles can match this Bornem Dubbel. The dark double is often served with meat dishes, such as steaks, roasted meat, game or sausages.

You can age the Bornem Double for many years, just like wine.
